The Majestic is Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati and Eric “Zoueh” Skotnes newest collaborative mural. Completed in August of 2021, The Majestic offers its viewers an homage to its past, present and future. Apart from site-specific imagery, this mural is replete with Art Deco signs and symbols, including the angel at the center who represents guidance, protection and love. The two children the angel holds symbolizes the youth of Tulsa’s community and the foliage all of the figures are set within represents the literal and metaphorical growth of the city. Behind the angel is an Art Deco/Art Nouveau inspired design with two native birds - a Scissor Tail Flycatcher sitting to the right and a Downy Woodpecker to the left intertwining within the design. Flowers grow from, and encircle, each side of the mural. In the background, the flowers are from the magnolia tree, which are ubiquitous throughout Tulsa. The sculptural design element that frames this mural is directly inspired from Tulsa’s rich Art Deco history. The figurative and design elements of the Art Deco frame were influenced by the architecture of the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa. This frame additionally functions as a window, actively inviting its viewer into another world.

Located in downtown Tulsa at the corner of 4th and Main Street, the 15,000 square foot mural was commissioned by the Tulsa Parking Authority (TPA) through a public request for proposals that aimed to enhance the storefront and blank façade of the Main Park Plaza parking garage. TPA collaborated with the Tulsa Arts Commission to lead the charge on invigorating the activity and vibrancy of the area. Shortly after the commencement of the mural installation, the Tulsa Parking Authority and other economic development related authorities consolidated into a single entity now known as the Tulsa Authority for Economic Opportunity (TAEO).
